Omnigraphics' newest history series, Primary Sourcebook Series, was created for the express purpose of meeting growing school and public library demands for well-packaged primary document collections. Each volume in this series includes excerpts from a wide array of speeches, bills, reports, oral histories, personal memoirs, editorials, letters, and other primary documents. The voices issuing forth from these sources range from political leaders and diplomats to journalists, activists, and ordinary citizens.
Each volume in the Primary Sourcebook Series contains a wealth of primary documents, arranged in chronological sections or chapters. Each chapter focuses on a specific topic or event within the larger historical period. Chapters and individual documents contain introductory material that explains the larger context in which the primary documents were created. Additional features of Primary Sourcebook volumes include guest foreword from an expert on the topic, a chronology, a glossary of leading figures, a general bibliography, and a subject index.
